2001, released “BASTOS”, the Third Live CD on
the Kakarabaw Label.
Rex’s fourth live comedy
album was recorded at Cobb’s Comedy Club in the
famous North Beach district of San Francisco, CA.
“Live at Cobb’s” is a 2010 digital release
available on iTunes worldwide, alongside the reissue
of his original three CDs in digital download
format.
He has since been a featured subject in ABS-CBN’s
“Stateside” weekly program airing in the U.S.
where he was seen on TFC’s “Stateside” program
with his very own segment, “Rex Files: Pinoy
Undercover” which aired internationally on ABS-CBN’s
The Filipino Channel satellite service.
Presently on his website, he
has released in collaboration with animator Dino
Ignacio a web cartoon version of his 1997 routine,
“Maritess vs. The Superfriends”. The cartoon at
Fractalcow.com has gained a worldwide audience, even
among non-Filipinos. In 2002, he returned to the
Philippines to do standup for a new and untouched
audience, selling out theaters and concert halls
bridging the gap of comedy traditions in both Asia
and the US..

In 2003, fans saw the release of his very first
live comedy DVD entitled, “HELLA PINOY”, which
was shot in San Francisco. This extensive video
project showcases a lot of the work he’s been
known for over a decade. This is the first solo DVD
live comedy show produced featuring a Filipino
American standup comic.
In 2005, came the release of his follow-up DVD
entitled, “Badass Madapaka” filmed live at the
historic Wiltern LG Theater in Los Angeles. This DVD
also contains footage from his tours in Manila,
Honolulu and San Francisco. We get a glimpse into
his life on the road and the unique audiences Rex
gets in front of. In 2006, “Rex In The City”
debuted on MTV Philippines airwaves. This is the
first ever Stand-up/Sit-com to broadcast in Asia.
With all of this happening, he is also in production
for a first-ever Filipino American animated series,
“The Nut Shack”, which is to air on Myx and The
Filipino Channel.
Rex returns in 2009 with Komik Organik, his third
live recording from the historic San Jose Improv.
After 20 years of stand-up comedy, he continues to
pull out all the stops on Filipino-American
phenomena. The DVD includes bonus audio tracks from
a live performance at Cobb’s Comedy Club in San
Francisco.
