Philippine American Community Center of Michigan (PACCM) is offering HULA Dance Classes to all interested children and adults who just want to dance Hawaiian dances. A great opportunity to learn authentic traditional dances of the islands and have fun learning the culture. NO DANCE EXPERIENCE is needed to register. You will be dancing Hula at your next Luau party.

PACCM Hula Dance Class "Winter 2010" Schedule

First Day of Class Jan. 9, 2010 End of Class: March 20, 2010

A) Basic Hula Dance Class (Teens/Adults Combined)

10:00-11:00 am Saturday - 10 weeks sessions Min:5 students /Max 20

Class Fee: $58.00 Classes Start: Jan. 9 - 16 - 23 - 30 - Feb. 6 - 20 - 27 -Mar 6 - 13 - 20

In this class, students will learn the basic Hula Steps and movements in Hawaiian language. Students will also learn the hula history, culture and tradition to appreciate the dances. At the end of the sessions, students will be able to dance to a classic songs of the island. Bring a "Sarong" (skirt) to wear during the class.

B) Advance Hula Dance Class (Teen/Adults combined)

11:00-12:00 noon Saturday 10 weeks sessions Min:5 students Max 20

Class Fee: $58.00 Classes start: Start: Jan. 9 - 16 - 23 - 30 - Feb. 6 - 20 - 27 -Mar 6 - 13 - 20

Students in this class will learn more techniques and knowledge of the hula steps and movements in Hawaiian language. The class always starts a 15 minutes warm-up/exercises. Bring your "Sarong" to wear during the class. Dance learned in this class will be showcase at the PACCM ValentinesParty 2010.

***New students in Advance class interested to take a review class need to see the Instructor before joining this class. Review Class Fee for New Student: $10.00/hr OR $48.00 (10 weeks Sessions)

If classes will be cancelled due to a bad weather condition, students will be notifid. Make-up class will be scheduled. It is advised that individual wishing to participate be aware of possible strennous activity and may wish to check with a physician prior to registration.
